Udyog Aadhar or MSME registration is a certificate granted to micro, small and medium enterprises. These industries are also called small-scale industries (SSI's).

Steps for Udyog Aadhar Application

The following are the steps to register the Udyog Aadha;

  1. First of all, Log on to the Udyog Aadhar website.
  2. Enter the applicants 12 digit Aadhar number for the verification process.
  3. Give the name of the authorised signatory lamented on the Aadhar card. In case if the name doesn't match with the applicants Aadhar number will be rejected.
  4. Mention the applicants caste and should also present the proof as it may be asked by the concerned authorities whenever required.
  5. Fill up the name of the enterprise and a legal entity from where the business managed.
  6. If the applicant has more business. One applicant can acquire more than one Udyog Aadhar registration.
  7. The kind of legal entity should be selected.
  8. The proprietors PAN number should be entered in the case if proprietorship. And in the case of LLP/company the PAN of the entity should be entered.
  9. Enter the place/location of the business.
  10. Original address along with the corporate office address including the email address and mobile number should be entered.
  11. Enter the date of beginning of the business.
  12. The applicable address of the previous MSME should be mentioned.
  13. Enter the bank details of the bank account of the company. It must include IFSC code and Bank account number.
  14. The major undertaking of the business should be selected.
  15. Select the appropriate NIC code mandatory from the National Industrial classification handbook.
  16. Enter the total number of the employers in the business.
  17. The amount of the investments in the terms of machinery and equipment by the business must be entered. The entered data should not contain the value of buildings or lands.
  18. Enter the details of district industry center if required.

After submitting all the above documents once again check the details and click on the submit button. The next step is to verify the OTP number which is generated by the registered number with captcha code. An acknowledgement number will be created and send to the applicant via mail. It will be useful for future purposes.

Enterprise Registration Simplified for MSMEs from 1st July

Starting from 1st July, enterprises can register themselves based on Aadhaar number alone. This is as per the new norms notified by the Government on 26th June 2020. The enterprises are no longer required to upload certificates and documents for registering online. They can provide these details with a self-declaration. This new process is named as “Udyam Registration” and is made possible after the successful integration of the registration process with those of GST and Income Tax. The details provided in the self-declaration will be duly verified by the authorities based on GSTIN and PAN. Those who do not have Aadhaar can approach the Single Window Systems along with their identity proof for Aadhaar enrollment request, bank passbook copy, voter ID card, driving license, or passport. The Single Window Systems will facilitate registration after receiving the Aadhaar number.
